Sociological studies attempt to discover the habits, politics and ethics or to reveal the map of social reforms in a literary work and are one of the modern means in the analysis of literary texts, particularly novels.

Because it is an experience expressed by the author and shared by people of the same social class as hers.

Ladies of Saturn, a novel by Iraqi writer Lutfia Al- Dulaimi depicts a real image of the pains that her country endured during the years of siege and occupation by the United States.

An image of lost, instability, murder, emigration, terrorism and sectarianism.

This novel shows the plight of miserable women who have suffered in wars and by occupiers and different kinds of extremist armed people, strict men, paramilitary forces, Takfiris, bandits, and thieves both inside and outside of their country.

The destruction caused by these groups is considerably more severe than that of the occupying soldiers, to the point that it forced them to flee Bagdad and seek refuge in neighboring countries.

This study provides a social critique of the novel based on the sociological theory of Lucien Goldmann, and uses the descriptive analytical method to find the point of view of the writer and her social class through this literary work.

The themes of this novel include war and its painful deep-rooted social and psychological devastating consequences, as well as issues related to women and their sufferings during two periods of tyranny and wartime siege.
