Abstract EN

This study aims to define the commitment to repatriate the seafarer, as one of the fundamental obligations of the maritime contract signed with the ship-owner, and dictated by humanitarian considerations such as the special working conditions of seamen.

Trough the present study, essential findings arose: Given the specific nature of work on board vessels, greater interest was given to protecting the seafarer's interests, as it clearly appears from the provisions of the various legal texts governing the repatriation commitment issue.
