Abstract EN

This study aims to investigate the effect of using social media on practicing religious rituals on youth of university of Medea, by testing two basic hypotheses based on the theory of social presence in the virtual space.

After conducting the study field on a sample of the student of Medea University and analysing the results.

The study indications that the use of social media from the viewpoint of these students does not negatively affect the university student in terms of practicing religious rituals.

In contrast, they affirmed the hypothesis of the positive effects of these sites on the university student.

On this basis, the results of the study confirm several positives effects, such as the students of the university involvement in charitable projects aimed to help the needy people, respecting the other, strengthening the relationship with parents, and relatives.

In addition adhering to religious duties and confirming the student’s social presence in the virtual space, discussing and interacting with others.
