Abstract EN

The aim of this article is to present the position of EMIR ʿAbd al-Qādir al-ǧazāʾīrī in his exile in Islamic Orient, in addition to his prestigious contribution in making decisions and supporting just issues.

This appeared clearly through his positions in the Al-Sham, Egypt and Hijaz, especially regarding the construction of the Suez Canal in Egypt (1859-1869).

His efforts in this area promoted thanks to the support from the French engineer « Ferdinand De Lessepes » at all levels in order to carry out the project of the century at that time.
