The encrypted virtual currencies in general and the Bitcoin currency in particular are considered a new and worrying phenomenon in the global economic circles.

in this research, I sought to shed light on the legal aspect of this currency, based on the available data about it from various sources-concept, characteristics and risks-using the descriptive approach, using induction and analysis, where the research concluded that dealing with this currency is legally prohibited ; because of the economic, technical and legal risks and damages it entails, in order to preserve the financial and legitimate purposes of states and individuals ; because the noble sharia came to preserve the five faculties, including money.

the ruling of prohibition continues as long as the descriptions, data and circumstances of this coin remain as they are until now, and the ruling may change with the development of this coin and its elevation to the level of traditional currencies.
