This article addresses the problem of the term in Algerian critical achievement by following the term “text” in critic Hussein Khumri's “the theory of scriptures-from the structure of meaning to the sé al-as a model that serves to guide the paper”.

this research is aimed at uncovering this critic's treatment of the term text and its intersection with other terms by examining the term network in the code, its connection to the semiotic discourse and the background of the term in the Arab critical heritage, with a view to identifying the semantic dimensions and functional roles of the term text in the critical speech.

the research concluded the cognitive value of the code and the critical awareness of the critic.
