The pre-Islamic poetry has formed the fertile ground for the cognitive developments in the contemporary critical scene, with its multiplicity of trends and schools, which imposed on Arab criticism the dialogue with the present historical and cognitive circumstances, the factors of transformation and its references, the cultural dimensions and its return to the critical heritage so as to defend the inherited aesthetic principles under the contemporary challenges and identity assertion.

however, the Arab readings sought with their procedural tools to reveal some of its ambiguities, in order to probe its depths searching for aesthetics absent from us.

furthermore, to unlock its connotative potential.

thus, the purpose of this semiotic reading of the Talalia’s introductions in pre-Islamic poetry is to search for the connotation of a place and the method of its formation through the poet’s philosophy in life which is colored by his different experiences, in addition to the conflict he is experiencing that creates a sense of paradox, mortality and survival, to put us in front of many dualities such as the constant and the variant resulted from the connotations stemming from the nature of his existence and the connotative aesthetics that contribute to his formation.
