Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the reality of using information systems in Algerian universities, and their role in increasing the quality of performance in these institutions, by applying these systems in searching for and retrieving information, and obtaining quality services, and we will try to address the problem of this study through a field study at Chlef University.

By distributing a questionnaire to a sample of students as a random sample, in order to monitor their views on the topic, which numbered 100 students, in addition to conducting an interview with the library staff.

The study found that the application of electronic information systems at the Algerian University through its libraries contributes effectively and positively to facilitating search and retrieval, thus increasing the quality of services and accelerating the pace of work, which contributes to the development of the university and the library.
