Abstract EN

The Algerian thinker Mohamed Arkoun (1928-2010) is one of those thinkers who have made great contributions to issues of contemporary Arab thought, specifically within the context of renewing religious discourse, presenting with his intellectual project “Criticism of the Islamic Mind” a contemporary vision on the ways and mechanisms of promoting religious discourse towards a horizon in which it converges.

And the categories of intellectual modernity specifically, in this paper we try to indicate - through Arkoun's vision - to what tolerance and its conditions should be recognized by the three scriptural religions in order to overcome the mentality of intolerance that characterizes religious societies.
