Abstract EN

The study aimed to employ the principles of governance in developing social studies curricula in the stages of Saudi public education, and to find out the reasons for employing governance in developing school curricula as an application to social studies curricula in general education stages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Determining the factors (frameworks) that should be taken into consideration when employing governance in developing social studies curricula in the general education stages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and determining the principles that should be focused on when employing governance in developing social studies curricula in the general education stages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On the difficulties and challenges that he believes face to employ the principles of governance in developing social studies curricula in the general education stages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The study followed the mixed approach represented in the analytical descriptive approach, and the qualitative approach - the grounded theoretical method for monitoring the perceptions of specialists and experts.

The study population is represented in two aspects, namely: social studies books for general education stages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a sample of experts and specialists in the two fields of social studies and administration in a number of Saudi and Arab universities, and their number is (10) experts.

The study data were collected using two tools, which are the content analysis card, and the semi-structured interview questions after the tool achieved the necessary validity and reliability characteristics.

The results of the study reached the preparation of a list of (66) principles of governance distributed into (4) areas, and the results of the content analysis revealed a severe decrease, unbalanced and uneven, in including the principles of governance in the development of social studies curricula.

It reached (21.2%) in all fields of the study, and the results of the semi-standardized interview confirmed the quantitative results of the study.

And based on the results of the study; presented a set of related recommendations and suggestions.
