Abstract EN

Arabic is a derivative language as scientists and researchers mention many types of derivations.

There are the morphological derivation, the largest derivation, the blending of words and substitution, This research deals mainly with another type of derivation called phonetic derivation.

It may seem at first glance that it is closely related to the substitution, but in fact it goes deeper than that.

It demonstrates a phenomenon that explains the development of the Arabic language to the way it reached us, It also explains some linguistic phenomena, such as synonyms and polysemy (multiple meaning words).

Looking at the similarly phonetic and semantic words, and trying to understand the evolution of the pronunciation method in view of these changes is a part of the research.

The research assumes that the reason for this arose sometimes from the development of the method of uttering the sound, such as the development of uttering of the voiced (g ج), or how people in Egypt pronounce it to the sounds of (Qaaf ق and ( Jeem ج), and the consequent phonological and semantic convergence, between some of the words that contain these two sounds, and other times arose from the substitution of the two utterances or sounds.
