Abstract EN

The debate about the universal peace and the cosmopolitan state and its accompanying values and principles has today become an urgent necessity.

The need is also to transcend the local scope, the narrow geographical borders of states and their limited political legislation, and search for a state that goes beyond one region to multi-regions and interacts with cultural difference and civilizational diversity.

The aim is to install a permanent peace project for all Peoples under a universal constitution, which principles fit all over the world, and the universal city to achieve a universal citizen enjoying peace and security consistent with the concept of man as an end in himself and not as a means.

This policy and this project are found in the universal politics and the permanent peace project of Emmanuel Kant who can be considered as the legitimate founder of critical philosophy, enlightenment and political modernity.

The objective is to draw inspiration from his philosophy in order to develop solutions to contentious issues related to politics, modernity, ethics and others for the current era.

In this study, I aim to present a summary of Emmanuel Kant's ideas about the cosmopolitan state, and about permanent peace.

This will allow to check the importance that the idea of Kantian universalism occupies in contemporary philosophy.

What does Kant mean by permanent peace? Is humanity longing for peace or is it natural for it to go to violence and conflict? What are the basic conditions proposed by Kant to achieve the alliance of peoples and the community of nations?
