Abstract EN
This article aims to reveal and describe the true picture of Jahiliyyah’s deeds related to personal matters and refute the misunderstanding of some people that Jahiliyyah’s deeds are all sorts of tribalism, fanaticism and invalid legislations.
In fact, the society of Jahiliyyah (life before Islam), like any other human society, had a social life including family ties and relations, formed in organized and recognized shapes, such as marriage, divorce, polygamy, inheritance and rights of marriage.
These issues have been classified in the Islamic jurisprudence under the topic of marriage.
Therefore, there is some sort of misunderstanding, indicating that pre- Islamic Jahiliyyah did not have any acceptable good deeds.
After data collection and coding, the researcher examines the position of Islam through its authentic sources, namely the Holy Qur’an and Sunna.
The researcher employs the analytical approach in his data analysis.
The results of the research are as follows: Islam emerges while the people of Jahiliyyah had been practicing their own deeds.
Thus, Islam has approved and improved the good deeds and rejected the bad ones.
The essential policy of Islam in dealing with the deeds of Jahiliyyah was based on the criteria of what is good for humanity and agrees with its principled teachings.
Islam then has distinguished between what has been approved and what has been rejected
