In the past few years, the world has witnessed a massive increase in the amount of digital data provided through satellites and various communication channels, and the volume of data available worldwide has increased due to the digital revolution energized by high-efficiency equipment and lower prices.

experts mentioned a data flow mechanism called big data.

researchers and statisticians are beginning to develop ways to use big data in various fields.

if the data provided by the database is analysed and transformed into information to gain new insights and ideas, it will be beneficial for individuals and organizations to improve the social economy, achieve competitiveness, protect the environment and health, and protect society meet the needs, improve the standard of living and others.

therefore, soon, big data can improve government policies, especially Arab policies.

from here, we asked the following questions : how is big data used for sustainable development, its fields of use, does it play a role in decision-making, and its added value in changing society to achieve sustainable development goals, to monitor progress and promote development to keep pace with the times.

in order to answer the problem of the study, it was relied on literary documentary sources as a way to obtain information in order to analyse the subject.
