Abstract EN

After amending the code of criminal procedure under ordinance n° 02 15 of July 23, 2015, the Algerian legislator expanded the scope of the public prosecution´s intervention in the function of judgment by granting it new powers represented in criminal mediation, immediate appearance, and criminal orders as alternative to the public prosecution and mechanisms to ensure the requirements of a fair trial and protect the rights of victim of crime, however these mechanisms have not effectively protected the rights of the victim as they are incompatible with the requirements of a fair trial.
