Abstract EN

This article aims to introduce the Deaf and Dumb and how to teach them the texts of Allah’s Attributes through the sign language.

It also aims to control the explanations of these texts in signs, and warns against the practical violations when explaining Allah’s Attributes to the Deaf and Dumb.

The study employs the deduction and elicitation approaches through the Sharia restrictions elicited from the Holy Qur’an, Sunna and Imams’ opinions.

The researcher concludes that there are ways to teach the Deaf and Dumb such as the manual way (or spelling of fingers) and the verbal way (or lips’ reading).

Teaching The Deaf and Dumb the texts of Allah’s Attributes can be done through the analogical descriptive sign that is based on corresponding human attributes to Allah’s Attributes or the literal symbolic sign that is based on the alphabetical fingers and sign dictionary.

The analogical descriptive sign should be restricted to the attributes in Sharia according to the text which fulfills the absolute existence of Allah, knowing the meaning intended by the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

The literal symbolic sign, however, should be restricted to mastering sign language, having unshaken doctrine, knowing the terms of the attribute texts, following content translation, not literal translation.

Translating the attribute texts should be to inform not to name.
