Abstract EN

This article deals with the unfamiliar utterances in Imam Bukhari’s Sahih “Kitaab Attafsir” in the light of three dimensions: what the linguists have stated in several lexicons, what interpreters stated in their interpretations, and what Hadith interpreters say in their books, since knowing the meaning of unfamiliar utterances in the Holly Qur’an is very important due to the fact that Imam Bukhari’s Sahih is one and the first source referred to by those interested in this aspect.

The study concludes with some results, the most important of which is that the unfamiliar utterances, according to linguists and interpreters, are divided into two types: firstly, the good unfamiliar, which is usable by native Arabs.

This type includes the unfamiliar in the Holy Qur’an and Hadiths, and what has been mentioned in Imam Bukhari’s Sahih.

Secondly, the bad unfamiliar, which is not usable and not recommended to be used by native Arabs, having no examples in the Holy Qur’an and Hadiths.

The study also shows the great impact on balancing and preferring in the meaning of these unfamiliar words/phrases, highlighting the Qur’anic secrets found in the most correct sources of interpretation, including Imam Bukhari’s Sahih.

It is also recommended to stick to this aspect as one of the important conditions of interpretation, thus excelling in knowing Arabic language words and structures.
