This article aims to examine Shirk of naming ascribed to Adam and Eve in interpreting Aya 189 of Surat Alaraf.

This Aya comes in the context of creating humans, creating Eve from Adam: is it about Adam and Eve?, is there Shirk? Or is the Aya not about them? Scholars have different opinions that Adam did not accept Shirk; many of them depend on the pregnancy story, and name their child Abdelhareth.

They also differ in interpreting Shirk in the Aya and text, based on their difference in accepting the truth of the story.

All this requires studying the Hadiths and effects, knowing the reality of their narrators and ways in interpreting the Aya under question the meanings of Shirk it involves.

The study employs the inductive, analytic and critical approach.

It recommends to stop accepting the story and interpreting this Aya haphazardly for its reasons and multiple meanings.
