Abstract EN

This article aims to shed light on Mawardi’ political thought and the sultanic provisions in his book Alahkam Alsultania.

Mawardi represents a cornerstone in the Islamic political thought.

although this science generally has few studies, Mawardi has a considerable portion of them.

the study mainly discusses the influence of the caliphate project on his political thought, the political reality that distinguishes his works and the influence of Shafi’i jurisprudence on his work, especially in his use of measurement or the influence of Asha’ri doctrine in the imam issue.

however, those who studied his work missed talking about the issue of accusing him of belonging to Mu’tazila, which was based on ibn Salah’s.

Ibn Salah claimed that Mawardi chose Mu’tazila’s opinions in his interpretation.

the assumption we will adopt here is that if ibn Salah were correct, Mawardi would have adopted Mu’tazila’s political ideas since the political reality was helping him to do so.

this is all made clear and discussed thoroughly in this study refuting the accusation of Mawardi as belonging or following Mu’tazila.
