This article aims to explain the concept of role modelling and highlight the domains in which role modelling takes place with special focus on education.

in particular, it addresses a socio-educational issue, namely the types of role modelling and its role in education.

the study employs the analytical and descriptive approach to define the problem, analyze the existing data, and combine them all together.

all these are done with reference to some previous cases and the relevant literature.

the research concludes with a number of findings, the most important of which are: role modelling is a prophetic-educational approach which has a significant impact on nurturing individuals and societies.

family is one of the most important sources of role modelling whereby parents act as role models in the proper upbringing of young people, school as well as social and religious educators must fulfil role modelling prerequisites before they can engage in their educational endeavours.

media has a widespread impact on young people and youth, influencing the development of their social skills, interests and preferences, as well as enabling them to choose role models.
