All praise be to Allah, and His Blessings be upon His Messenger, Mohammed, his family and companions.

The ability to keep pace with changes and developments in every era, place and in all fields especially the field of medical sciences is one of the greatest distinguishing features of Sharia.

This leads to exert efforts in legal verdicts to derive legal provisions that suit these new developments and to deal with each new-fangled issue according to its necessity and the human need for it.

The study deals with one of the new-fangled issues of this ere which is considered a revolution in medical scientific advancement in the world of embryos.

It is Mitochondrial donation or triple IVF.

I have concluded that the most preponderant of the opinions of medical professionals is that Mitochondrial transfer leads to genealogy mixing.

This opinion has been adopted to derive the legal provision of prohibiting Mitochondrial donation.

This entails a rejoinder to those that allege that Sharia is inert and disinclined to change and that it does not suit the developments of the present age.

In fact, Sharia has been proactive in preserving lineage and offspring in order to create a coherent, secure and safe society.
