Abstract EN

This article aims to shed light on the political and intellectual doctrines crystallized in the Islamic Maghreb region.

Schools of jurisprudence began to take form, and then moved to the rest of the neighboring regions, especially the Maliki School of thought, which imposed itself as a driver for the course of intellectual, political and social events in Libya.

Thus, this study addresses Libyan scholars’ efforts in the flourishing of the Maliki school of thought, starting from a central question: How did the Libyan scholars contribute to the flourishing of the Maliki School of thought and research.

It aims to identify the most famous books of the school of thought in North Africa, and clarify the efforts of the Libyan jurists who served the Maliki School of thought in revealing the elite of the Maliki jurists.

The study employs the descriptive analytical approach, analyzing and describing Libyan scholars’ efforts in the flourishing of the Maliki School of thought.

The study concludes with a number of findings, the most important of which is that the Maliki jurisprudence did not find it difficult to be accepted by the people and the population.

This is so because it is Ijtihad based on reality that takes into account the customs and traditions of the tribes and the rules of society.
