Poetic theft has long been known in Greece and the Romans, in the pre-Islamic era, there were poetic texts indicating that they were known long ago because the poet Tarfa ibn al-Abd and Zuhair ibn Abi Salamah mentioned this poetry.

The issue of poetries theft was one of the important poetic criticism issues that have preoccupied critics in the past and now because of the strong similarity between poets in their meanings and words, and the association of poetry in the past with the present.

For these robberies it was necessary to define precise specifications for this similarity, so as not to oppress the poets of the present age and do not deceive those who are in the past.

One of the main objectives of this study is to identify theft of poetic texts and identifying types of poetry thefts, and distinguishing between them, and stating the position of critics of the issue of poetic thefts.

The methodology of study is used descriptive analytical comparative method .

The most important results of this study are the following: The theft of poetic texts is the taking of creative innovator, which singled out a particular poet, and that the theft of poetic texts is very many, as illustrated by critics, so the most important thefts of poetic is that embezzlement, raiding and Synonym, and that the position of critics of this issue they were divided into two teams right side and much exaggerated, another side went to the intolerance of some poets.

One of the recommendations of this study is to study the theft of poetic texts, a comparative study among the poets Abi Tammam and Al-Bahtari and between Al-Bahtari and Abu Nawas.
