Abstract EN

This paper deals with the structure of interrogative in Arabic and Zaghawa language.

It aims at highlighting Zaghawa language and introducing it through its syntaxtic system.

It also aims at providing a small scientific contribution that linguistics field can benefit from.

The paper also aims to document Zaghawa language, which is facing threat of extinction .The paper consists of four axes of four topic as following: a general geographical, historical and linguistic background of Zaghawa as language community , the concept of interrogative , particles ,and contrasting of interrogative structure in the two languages.

The most important findings are: interrogative is divided into real and metaphor in both languages .

The two languages are similar in using certain interrogative particles for human and others for things, but they are different in the number of particles used in interrogative : (eleven in Arabic, nine in Zaghawa language).

The two languages also differ in the sections of interrogative particles which are referred to as polar and q-word question in English( three in Arabic , two in Zaghawa language) .They also differ in position of particles which always occur first in Arabic and in the middle or at the end of sentence in Zaghawa language.
