Ahl al-Sunnah Wal-Jama’ah are the majority of the people of Islam, and this term originated early on the tongue of Abdullah bin Abbas, may god be pleased with them, especially when strife arose and disputes intensified among Muslims, in addition to a lot of fabricating hadiths and attributing them to our master, the messenger of god, may god’s prayers and peace be upon him, and because of for these two matters and others, the term Ahl al-Sunnah appeared, and he became a science on the way of the prophet, peace and blessings of god be upon him and his companions, and whoever followed his path until the day of resurrection, and the banner of defending Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah was carried by these four imams, the imams of legislation (Abu Hanifa-Malik-Shafi’i- Ahmed bin Hanbal) may god be pleased with them, until that the flag was reached by the two imams Abu Mansur al-Matridi and Abu al-Hasan al-Ash’ari, and what distinguishes the Sunnis from other sects is that one of their characteristics is that they believe in the reference of the book and the Sunnah, and the balance between reason and transmission, and do not fall into the doom of blasphemy, and one of their characteristics is that they revere the companions of the messenger of god, peace and blessings be upon him.
