One of the most important ambitions of any Palestinian is to have his own house, because a privately owned house forms the most significant link to the homeland.The different stages of realising that dreams are usually accompanied by songs and festivities.

The article illustrates the different stages of building a house by a large number of the songs used at each stage.

At the end of the article the emotional significance of the house to a Palestinian villages is discussed.
