The study tried to shed light on the importance of the human element, which is one of the most important elements of the era of knowledge, especially in the field of libraries and information, where the human element is the focus of providing information to create knowledge in the era of knowledge, and this study is a survey study of the reality of information specialists in the libraries of Alexandria University to stand On the strengths and weaknesses of information specialists, as well as the role that information specialists play in the libraries of Alexandria University, and their knowledge of the nature of their role in the era of the knowledge.

The study also indicated that the College of Law library is the most numerous in terms of the number of employees and the least number in terms of the number of specialists, while the College of Commerce library occupies the first place in terms of the number of specialists.

And the College of Pharmacy library is the most in terms of the number of devices, while the least number of them is in the number of devices.

It was the library of the Faculty of Education and the Library of the Faculty of Commerce, and the study showed that the employees of the libraries of Alexandria University have great eagerness to self-learning, continuous training and work effectively with others, and then the motivation towards work and the desire to provide more.

This study indicated that workers in Alexandria University libraries have a weakness in Proficiency in foreign languages and the ability to make decisions, and there is a weakness in participation in conferences and workshops.

The study also showed that information specialists have deficiencies in communicating with others, as well as familiarity with the tasks of information specialists in the era of the knowledge, and then the ability to market information services, The study indicated that only 22.5% have excellent computer skills.

The study also indicated that information specialists obtained an acceptable grade in adapting technology to serve work.

The study also revealed that there is a deficiency in the information specialist's knowledge of the libraries of Alexandria University about electronic information sources, and the way to deal with them.

The study also showed that the ability to purify and evaluate information and the element of directing and training the beneficiaries is a severe weakness of information specialists in Alexandria University libraries.
