Maintaining quality is a major challenge for digitization projects, especially with the limited capabilities of the available devices as well as human errors that are difficult to avoid.

Despite the importance of the quality control process for the success of digitalization projects, trying to set standards that govern that process is difficult not only because there is no unified standard recognized by everyone, there is also the short life of the technology used, which makes any with the continuous development of the capabilities of the capture hardware and software.

Nevertheless, efforts should be made to create a set of criteria that allow full capture of assets according to measurable practices.

This article deals with the definition of quality control that international organizations have settled on, with an explanation of the objectives to be achieved in terms of its application, its importance, the methods used in quality control during the process of digitizing manuscripts and their steps, then it reviews the most important quality standards followed in the digitization of manuscripts and ends by clarifying the technical requirements and software necessary to conduct quality control during the process.
