Abstract EN

In this study, I dealt with one of the important grammatical and semantic issues in the Arabic language, and it is of two parts: the first part is semantic and the second part is grammatical.

In its first part, I drew on the lexicographic aspects of the verb (Ma Dama), while I reflected on the grammatical ones in the second part where a long argument and a great controversy among grammarians took place around it in terms of its work as an incomplete verb by the Kan family and its sisters; The followers of the Basriah school adopted an opinion, and the followers of the Kufic school disagreed with them, and there is another disagreement in which the act (Ma Dama) in terms of behavior and inertia, and a third disagreement about the possibility for the predicate of (Ma Dama) to assume a medial position or an initial one preceding its subject.

I looked into all these semantic and grammatical issues in an analytical fashion, adopting the descriptive and analytical approach, and extrapolating the texts and grammatical evidence in my study.
