Abstract EN

The current research aims at identifying the nature of the relationship between social intelligence and self-esteem of students who are academically superior at Taiz university, and also identifying the level of social intelligence and self-esteem of academically excelling students at Taiz university, as well as identifying the differences in social intelligence and self-esteem according to two variables gender (male, female) and collage type (scientific, human).

The research sample consist of (458) male and female students in scientific and humanitarian specializations who were deliberately selected from different colleges and levels, The two researchers used social intelligence scale prepared by them and self-esteem scale prepared by Al-mojahid (2016).

The research result showed that: - - there is positive relation between social intelligence and self-esteem among academically excelling students.

-the level of social intelligence is high among the academically excelling students.

- there are no differences in social intelligence among academically excelling students according to gender variable (male, female) -there are differences in social intelligence among academically excelling students according to the type of faculty variable (scientific, human) towards human faculties.

- the level of self-esteem among academic excelling students is high - there are differences in self-esteem among academically intelligence students according to gender variable (male, female) towards female.

- there are differences in self-esteem among academically excelling students according to type of faculty variable (scientific, human) towards human facilities.
