الاضطرابات النفسية الناشئة عن انتشار فيروس كورونا (كوفيد- 19)‎ في المملكة العربية السعودية

Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the psychological disorders arising from the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Covid-19, among the population of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This included psychological loneliness, anxiety, depression, social fears, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The social survey methodology was applied using an electronic questionnaire.

The questionnaire included a section on demographic features, sections on the four psychological disorders, and an open question to find out the respondents’ suggestions and observations.

The responses of 526 respondents were collected electronically.

The most important results were that the level of mental disorders was lower than average and that the age group of 17-32 years and females were more affected by psychological disorders.

The study recommended the importance of strengthening the psychology of everyone, especially females, as well as the above mentioned age group (17-32 years), along with recommending the importance of raising the level of awareness and education about coronavirus disease and its relationship to psychological disorders.
