The end of the story is one of the most important elements that affect the text's concept and its impact on the reader mentally and psychologically, and it is the element that leads the text and is stuck in the reader's mind.

The closure is the activity of thinking that the reader does after finishing reading the end in order to satisfied about the text.

This study aims to focus on the difference between the end and the closure in several issues: concepts, kinds, roles, and their impacts on the reader.

As an example, the study analysed the short story "The ants and the Qāt" by the Syrian writer Haidar Haidar and explained the effect of the various elements of the story on determining the end, in addition to showing the connotations and interpretations of the text based on the content and type of the ending..

The study came up with several findings, such as the end of the story and the closure are closed, however,the reader still has to do postending activity to reveal the symbols and codes in the text.

Moreover, the study found that there are many elements that can lead to the end, such as the type of the characters, the place, and the course of the events.
