Abstract EN

The study aimed to exploring the effectiveness of suggested strategy based on Gerlack & Ely Model in developing the ability of physics problem solution, and physics literacy for higher basic stage students.

The physics problem solution exam, and physics literacy scale, were applied on a random sample consisted of (66) students in Amman's schools in Jordan, divided into two groups.

The first group is experimental group taught by Gerlack & Ely Model, the second group is a control group taught by traditionally.

The study showed that there were statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) between the means scores of the experimental and the control groups students in physics problem solution, and physics literacy in favor of the experimental group students.

The study recommended using Gerlack & Ely Model in teaching, and training teachers to use it, and to develop the science curriculua for this model, and to make other studys to explore the effecte of this model on other variables
