Abstract EN

Virtual laboratories have proven their ability to solve problems associated with chemical and scientific experiments that are difficult to implement.

the use of virtual laboratories also improved the level of academic achievement of students, by creating a positive impact on their attitudes towards teaching the subjects of study, which is reflected in an increase in students' assimilation and understanding of scientific concepts during the learning process.

in light of the foregoing ; this research study comes with the aim of identifying the degree of employing virtual laboratories in teaching scientific concepts to middle school students from the point of view of teachers and supervisors in the city of Mecca.

to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive survey method, in addition to using the questionnaire as a main tool in the process of collecting data from the study sample.

the current study included a random sample of (132) teachers and supervisors.

after analyzing the data, the researcher reached a number of results, the most important of which are : the employment of virtual laboratories in teaching scientific concepts to middle school students came to a large degree from the point of view of the teachers and supervisors in the city of Mecca.

the results indicated that there are major obstacles facing the employment of virtual laboratories, including (the scarcity of virtual laboratories that rely on the Arabic language in their presentation of data, the lack of availability of the necessary physical and software requirements, and the lack of teachers receiving adequate training), the results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of statistical significance (α 0.05) about the degree of employing virtual laboratories for teaching scientific concepts due to the variable (nature of work, academic qualification, specialization, experience).

in light of these results, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations and suggestions, most notably : attention to motivating teachers to participate in the training programs offered by the department of education to introduce virtual laboratories, and to provide the necessary physical and software requirements that help to use virtual laboratories within classes.
