The call to vernacular in the Arab world, especially in the eras of decadence, backwardness, and colonialism, is one of the most important and most dangerous calls that the Arabic language has been exposed to over its long history.

Where this call appeared in universities and institutes of Europe to move to the salons of culture and politics in the Arab world, with a strong and clear voice at times, and in a low and weak voice at other times, until it failed to achieve what it aspired to.

In this paper, we will try to define colloquialism, the dates and places of its emergence, its relationship to colonialism, its purpose, and its fate.
