The current research aimed to study the impact of political sectarianism on the effectiveness of the state in Iraq, where the policies of perpetuating sectarianism led to the modest performance of the political system and successive governments since the 2005 constitution, which was established under the American occupation, and the low ability of the state to meet the public needs of its citizens, and the weakness of security and economic functions and disability on confronting corruption.
