Maghreb critical thinking is considered one of the most important outcomes of the challenges faced by the Arab and Islamic nation although we may find many critics and intellectuals underestimating it claiming that it is nothing but an imitation of oriental criticism, this claim is greatly unfair, and it can not be refuted except by those who studied the writings of occidental critics and examined them, especially with regard to fundamental issues as the one we are discussing in this article, namely the term al talaqi in which the visions of Hazem al-Carthagini and Ibn al-Banna differ, based on their reading of this term, they worked on the enrichment of occidental criticism to be independent and distinct from oriental criticism by a methodology not known to his predecessors of critics.
