The Egyptian Christian monks contributed with their various trips towards the western basin of the Mediterranean have played and effective role in the transmission of monasteries and their teachings in various parts of Europe, especially Rome and North Africa.

By the sixth century AD, monasteries had developed and become religious institutions with a dire spiritual power, as they had known an unprecedented expansion in the middle ages.

Their impact was clear to the Christian monks' travelers of European society from various aspects, especially in terms of scientific, cultural and social aspects.

The monasteries had a positive impact on public life in Europe.

However, they contributed to the destruction of his society by encouraging celibacy, which tore families apart and reduced the number of their members.
