In this article, we try to shed light on the conceptual model as one of the social science mechanisms used in its approach to aspects of social reality in order to explain and attempt to understand them.

social reality does not present a given subject ready for study, and it is other than a huge amount of perceptible molecules which present a false perception of social reality.

the truth sought by the researcher can be hidden behind this false reality, which prompts the researcher to reconstruct it according to an abstract mental structure called a «conceptual model» through which the researcher can access the essentials of this social reality, by extracting from it what is holistic and necessary.

thus forming the subject of social sciences
