This study aims to shed light on the management control system in the SME environment, it is for us to identify the SME and to demonstrate the place it occupies both as an object of research and as a fundamental lever for the economic development of the countries on the one hand, but also to exhibit the practices of management control that are inherent to it.
The work in this paper is carried out by an analysis of several studies focused on the fields of SMEs and management control, which allowed to show and conclude that the existence and practice of management control by SMEs are difficult to surround in a standard model but rather specific to each SME in a unique way.

Cette étude se veut un éclairage sur le système de contrôle de gestion en milieu PME, il s'agit pour nous d'identifier la PME et de démontrer la place qu'elle occupe aussi bien en tant qu'objet de recherche que levier fondamental à l'épanouissement économique des pays d'une part, mais aussi d'exposer les pratiques de contrôle de gestion qui lui sont inhérentes.
Le travail est mené par une analyse de plusieurs études axées sur les domaines de la PME et du contrôle de gestion, ce qui a permis de montrer et conclure que l'existence et la pratique du contrôle de gestion par les PME sont difficiles à cerner dans un modèle standard, mais plutôt propre à chaque PME de manière singulière.
