In accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child ratified by Algeria in 1992, and in view of the commitment to achieving the goals of sustainable development for childhood, Algerian legislation protects children from all forms of economic exploitation.

This research paper comes to highlight the most important sociodemographic and economic characteristics of child labor, based on the database of the sixth cluster survey 2019.

The results of the study showed that the percentage of child labor is six times what was stated by official sources, and males are more likely to work in childhood compared to females, and it is estimated The average age of workers is approximately 14 years.

The north central region is considered the most targeted region for child labor, with 22%.
