Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to measure the impact of change resistance strategies on performance of Jordanian private hospitals, which are included in the register of the Directorate of Licensing of Health Institutions and Professions of the Ministry of Health in 2018.

The study population is composed of (43) major Jordanian private hospitals in Amman.

A random sample of size (20) hospitals was taken.

The sampling unit consisted of managers and heads of departments.

The descriptive analytical approach was adopted in the collection, classification and analysis of data.

The independent variable was change resistance strategies with dimensions: compulsion strategy, sharing strategy and communication strategy.

dependent variable The performance of Jordanian private hospitals with the dimensions of productivity, satisfaction, efficiency and quality .

SPSS Version 18 was used in statistical data analysis.

The results showed that there is a statistically significant effect with level(α=0.05) of the dimensions of the strategies of resistance of change (compulsion strategy, sharing strategy and communication strategy), on the performance of Jordanian private hospitals with dimensions (productivity, satisfaction, efficiency and quality).

The communication strategy had a statistically significant effect on performance, while the other dimensions had no statistically significant effect.

The results of the branch hypotheses were as follows: There was a statistically significant impact of the communication strategy on productivity, satisfaction, efficiency and quality, but the other strategies did not have a statistically significant effect on any dimension of the dependent variable .

The most important recommendations are: To urge managers and heads of departments to continue to use the communication strategy as a change strategy because of its impact on hospital performance.

The compulsion strategy is an undesirable strategy, therefore the study recommends that this strategy not to be used.

Also the study calls for review the sharing strategy and urging managers to use it.

Similar studies should be conducted to measure the impact of change resistance strategies on performance, taking into account to study different populations and dimensions.
