The Phenomenon of Verbal Common and Contradiction in Diwan Al- Hutay’ah The subject of philology is one of the thorny sub-topics in the Arabic language, One of the most important linguistic sciences is the science of (philology), its importance, and the scholars’ interest in it Because of the importance of this science, I liked to write about its topics, so my research was called “The Phenomenon of Verbal Common and Contradiction in Diwan Al-Hutay’a.” To learn about the language of the poet Jrul bin Aws bin Malik, nicknamed Al-Hati›ah, as well as to distinguish between these two phenomena and to clarify the most important things that overlap between them.

As for my method in the research, it was my analysis of the words in which I found a common verbal or in which there was a kind of contradiction.

I explained the meaning of the word in the linguistic lexicon and then explained the meaning of the word in the poetic verse, and the nature of the research required that it be an introduction, a preface, three sections and a conclusion.

The most important results were: 1-Al-Hutay’ah is distinguished by his balanced poetry in wording and pronunciation, and not straying from the rhyme, as his poetry was characterized by the beauty of the pronunciation and good style.

2-Al-Hutay’ah’s poetry included two important linguistic phenomena: the verbal common and the antithesis.

However, the verbal common had the best luck with the poet.
