The issue of trustworthy narrators who are debatable is one of the issues that are confusing in their perception in one narrator, and in their later applications.

The one narrator is looked upon as several narrators, due to his multiple conditions, especially when the narrator is trustworthy, memorizing a lot of the narration.

"Muammar bin Rashid" is one of those narrators whose condition differed in two different places, between Basra and Yemen.

Al-Bukhari and Muslim have quoted him in their two Books (Sahihs).

This nature of Muammar's condition was not hidden from the Imams of criticism, so they detailed his case, clarified it and judged the Hadiths he narrated according to that condition.

In one case he was trustworthy, when he was in Yemen, and in another he was erred and some of the Hadiths he narrated were not recognized, when he was in Basra.
