Portugal presents the western periphery of the Arab-Muslim world in the Middle Ages, although this country suffered from a lack of information concerning Arab civilization compared to other eras, we find in Arab sources descriptive passages of cities under Muslim domination, which allowed us to develop the problematic of this article: to reveal the architectural and town planning elements of Islamic inspiration and aspect in the western country of Gharb al-Andalus.

Le Portugal présente la périphérie occidentale du monde arabo-musulman au moyen Âge, quoique ce pays ait souffert de manque des informations concernant la civilisation arabe par rapport aux autres époques, nous trouvons dans les sources arabes des passages descriptifs des villes sous la domination musulman, qui nous ont permis de développer la problématique de cet article: révéler les éléments architecturaux et urbanistiques d'inspiration et aspect islamique au pays occidental de Gharb al-Andalus.
