The universal declaration of human rights, which was adopted on December 10, 1948 in its article 19, stipulates media freedom by considering it in general as one of the pillars of democratic societies, especially European ones, in the light of the modern, multiple and renewed system for the protection of media freedom, and this is based on the a set of normative regulations as well as executive regulations that dealt with media freedom, and accordingly we will try in this study to address the mechanisms of protecting media freedom at the European level, and the study concluded that despite this modern, multiple and renewed system for the protection of media freedom at the European level, it is there are still a number of shortcomings in the full realization of this right, especially within the framework of governments and national and European human rights structures.
