Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify reading comprehension skills suitable for Arabic-speaking learners of other, intermediate level, and to identify the effect of using the story map strategy on developing the reading comprehension of students of the institute for teaching Arabic language at the Islamic university of Madinah, the research used the semi-experimental approach, the research sample consisted of (20) students.

a questionnaire and a measurement test for reading comprehension were prepared for learners of the Arabic language speaking other than intermediate level.

the research reached a well-controlled list of reading comprehension skills suitable for intermediate-level Arabic-speaking learners.

the list consisted of four main skills and eleven sub-skills.

the results also showed a clear effectiveness and impact through the statistical analysis of the results of the reading comprehension skills test for learners of Arabic language speaking other than the intermediate level in the post application, the research also reached recommendations, including: taking care of the use of modern means, techniques and strategies, especially when developing oral reading skills among learners, holding training courses on story map strategy in developing reading comprehension.
