Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the validity and reliability indices for the Arabic version of Orientation Scale (HOS) in the Saudi environment, and to achieve the goal of the study, the scale items were translated into Arabic in line with the study environment, included (36) items.

the sample of study (437) male and female participants, whose ages ranged from (26-48) years and over.

the results of the confirmatory factor analysis indicated the existence of five main meaningful factors, over which (35) paragraphs out of (36) were saturated.

the localized image of the scale (35) items had acceptable psychometric properties.

the value of the coefficient of stability of the internal consistency using the Cronbach alpha coefficient (72.) and (88.) for the half partition stability coefficient, and the value of the stability coefficient of the scale (stability of repetition) was (81.) and the scale has an acceptable reliability.

the results also indicated that there are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) in the average performance of the study individuals on the scale of the orientation towards health beliefs in the variable presence of previous diseases, and the results were in favor of those suffering from stress diseases, followed by those suffering from diabetes, and the presence of differences according to the smoking variable.

in the interest of smokers, in the marital status variable the differences came in favor of the unmarried group compared to the married group, and in the age variable the differences came in favor of those older than (48) years compared to other groups, and the results showed no differences according to the gender variable on the scale of health beliefs.
