Abstract EN

This study deals with the Jihadist policy of Emir Hisham Al-Reda bin Abdul Rahman Al-Dakhil (172-180AH/788- 796AD) towards the Spanish and Frankish ambitions in the Andalusian lands; his armies won against the forces of King of Asturias Bermudo I in the battle of Burbia River in 175AH/791AD.

He was able to enter the Frankish cities of Girona and Narbonne and also go deep into the lands of Asturias and impose a siege on its capital, Oviedo, during the subsequent campaigns.

Despite the defeat of his army by the forces of King Alfonso II in Lutos\Lodos Battle in 178AH/794AD, his jihadist campaigns did not stop, contributing to the military and economic weakness of the Spaniards and the Franks, and succeeded in curbing their expansionist ambitions, thanks to the efforts of his leaders, rulers and soldiers.
