Safwan border point is one of the most important land border point in Basrah Governorate, and for its importance, the research is divided into several sections.

Section one deals with the commercial importance of Safwan border point.

Section two shows the historical performance of the point.

Section three presents the functional and commercial importance of the point.

Section four tries to uncover its problems.

Finally section five presents the solutions and suggestions that remedy its problems.

The research aims to reveal the commercial importance of Safwan border point, identify the types of incoming goods and the extension of functionality.

Also it indicates its problems and suggests appropriate solutions to raise a better level of service.
